Comma Splice

A comma splice occurs when two or more independent clauses are joined with a comma but without a coordinating conjunction(such as and, or, nor, for, but, so, yet).A comma splice occurs when a comma separates two independent clauses.Another type of comma splice occurs when a word other than a coordinating conjunction is used with a comma to join two or more independent clauses. There are four basic ways to correct a comma splice.
  • Revise by creating two separate sentences
  • Revise by joining the clauses with a semicolon
  • Revise by joining the clauses with a comma and a coordinating conjunction
  • Revise by making one clause dependent or by turning one clause into a phrase
I learnd what comma splice are, and how to use them correctly and when and when not you use them.
